Microsoft is making a new development through LinkedIn by a creating ‘Marketplaces’, a space for all the freelancers to earn through gigs, much like Fiverr and Upwork.
Introducing a freelancer marketplace could be a step in the right dircetion by LinkedIn becuase it already has a database of professionals, companies, and learning platform.
The company is planning to offer it’s 700 million professional users an opportunity to hire instantly and easily through Marketplaces. The payment method will most likely be a digital wallet from Microsoft for earning and paying clients.
LinkedIn and Microsoft has made no announcement for a launch date, but considering the plan has been in works since October 2019, we could look at a September 2021 launch.
According to WC, Marketplaces is likely to focus on white-collar services such as consulting, marketing, and writing, accounting and app development.
If you are a freelancer with special focus on marketing, writing, development and design, you probably have a profile on Fiverr or Upwork, but you can also look at other freelancing platforms to earn.
