Google has quietly added railway crossing sign to its Maps app signalling delays to commuters if any, in the USA region.
Google Maps’ latest add-on was something we only saw in Waze app but the new navigation showing a delay is no doubt beneficial if there is a railway crossing on that route.
The warning notification is for now only available to iOS and Android users of USA region. Commuters will see a round yellow icon with a symbol of railroad tracks on the screen if there is a warning of “Expect delays”.
While this is a small update on Google Maps and only in USA, we will probably see it rolling out in other regions very soon.
