Google announced on Monday that its Play Movies and TV app will no longer be available from June 15.
With this move, users will no longer be able to watch movies and shows on Samsung, LG, and Vizio smart TVs. This is also true for Roku devices.
Instead, users will now have to use YouTube to watch their purchased content. What’s more? Credits purchased on the application will be available on YouTube. With them, you’ll still be able to buy movies and shows. However, family sharing will have limited support, and your watch list won’t transfer over.
Despite this action, Google is not killing off the application. According to reports, the company plans to merge it with its new TV software currently under development.
