Google is reminding once again that it will delete all Google Play Music data by February 24, 2021.
We think its great that the reminder is making its rounds. Last year during the pandemic, Google announced in August that it will be gradually shutting down Play Music. This decision was to make people switch to its new service: YouTube Music.
Following month till December, the tech giant shut down Google Play Music’s streaming services and effectively ended it. Despite this, users could still access their data: transfer, download, and delete.
Now, they are completely ending it by deleting all data including users’ music libraries with information on uploads and purchases, among others.
Therefore, users have until February 24 to transfer their data to YouTube Music and access it after which they will lose it forever.
