The Microsoft Build 2021 event took place virtually between May 25 and 27.
The event is an annual conference that the technology behemoth holds for developers and software engineers who use its technologies.
At this year’s event, the company unveiled several updates and tools that will impact its ecosystem going forward. Firstly, it claimed that its upcoming Microsoft Edge update will be the best performing browser on Windows 10. Secondly, it announced the release of Windows Package Manager 1.0, a tool that will enable IT admins manage multiple systems. With this tool, installation and de-installation of packages and applications on Windows 10 becomes easier.
Next, Microsoft announced new features for Teams aimed at boosting the development of collaborative apps. To support this, it will provide greater access to its APIs, the Teams Store, and development tools, among others. The company developed these features to enable people collaborate more effectively across multiple devices in real-time.
Thereafter, the CEO, Satya Nadella, teased the upcoming release of “the next generation of Windows”. He described it as “one of the most significant updates of Windows” in the past decade. However, he stopped short of announcing what it is.
Another notable event that occurred was the unveiling of the Project Reunion 0.8 preview. Following this, the company promised to develop advanced AI solutions for its customers, although it didn’t state the solutions. By the way, Project Reunion is a tool for developing Windows 10 apps.
