UK’s decision to leave EU is bringing about an impact on items being delivered to UK.
Businesses have been preparing to navigate from free trade across Europe to a more Brexit compliant system, and shipping to UK is facing a huge impact.
According to BBC, EU firms are refusing to deliver because of the tax changes. We have covered a parcel forwarding post which features companies who help online shoppers to buy globally and deliver across the world… and already we have started to get queries from users who wish to deliver in EU and use DDP but cannot because some forwarders are refusing to ship to EU.
While UK will face the biggest impact of course as companies are simply refusing to ship to this region, but someone forwarders are getting a little antsy about EU too.
FedEx and TNT have already said that they will increase their prices for shipments going between UK and Europe to, and we are sure DHL and UPS will follow.
The decision came into effect on 1st January this year by HMRC, and just to keep in mind, it applies to anyone and everyone delivering to UK.
So basically just register for UK VAT :/
