Zoom at its annual Zoomtopia conference on Monday announced multiple new features for its platform.
The first of these features is a live transcription cum translation service. With it participants can transcribe the speaker’s words and, thereafter, translate it into their respective languages. Next is the Zoom Whiteboard, a virtual whiteboard that users can use to write and illustrate their ideas and concepts. Also, the company is updating Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery to display the individual video feeds of people who participate in person.
Finally, the company is introducing Zoom Widget. This feature will enable users to easily view their meeting schedule, message a host, and perform other quick actions.
Zoom is making these updates to accommodate workers who are transiting into a hybrid workforce. As a result, they will be able to get the best of both worlds and not experience a productivity drop.
And while some of these features will be free, others, including the live translation service, will cost a yet to be announced fee.
